On‑site Fire Extinguisher Operation Training Held in Our Factory

Safe production is the foundation of manufacturing. To strengthen workshop risk prevention and raise all staff’s fire‑safety awareness, our factory recently organized practical fire extinguisher usage training for all on‑site production workers.

Fire hazards may exist in every production workshop. Mastering correct fire‑fighting skills for initial‑stage fire is essential for every employee. This training combines theoretical explanation and hands‑on practice, instead of only textbook knowledge.

Key Knowledge Shared During Training

The trainer explained common fire risks inside the screening‑equipment workshop, pointed out the placement of fire‑protection facilities, and taught the internationally recognized PASS operating procedure for fire extinguishers.

P‑ Pull out the safety pinRemove the safety pin on the top of fire extinguisher to release the trigger handle.

A‑ Aim at the base of flamesStand 2‑3 meters away from the fire source at the up‑wind position. Direct the nozzle at the root of burning fire, not the top of the flame.

S‑ Squeeze the operating handlePress down the handle firmly to spray out fire‑suppressing agent.

S‑ Sweep from side to sideSweep the nozzle left and right along the fire base until all open flames are fully put out.

On‑site Practical Exercise

After theory learning, all workshop staff took turns to conduct real simulation fire‑extinguishing practice. Under the guidance of safety instructor, every worker got hands‑on experience on how to hold, aim and operate fire extinguishers properly.

During the practice, we also emphasized critical safety notes:

• Fire extinguishers are only for small initial fires. Once fire spreads out of control, evacuate immediately instead of blind firefighting.

• Always keep yourself on the upwind side to avoid smoke inhalation.

• Check fire extinguishers regularly: inspect pressure gauge status, appearance and expiry date. Report defective fire‑fighting devices to management timely.

• Stay on‑site for observation after putting out fire to prevent re‑ignition.
