Full Balance Vibrating Screen, Stable Vibratory Sifter for Wood Fiber & Wood Shavings Grading

1. Background

Customer Profile

This case is from an overseas wood-based panel and thermal insulation material manufacturer. The customer operates a complete production line processing **wood fiber,

wood shavings and wood chips** for

downstream applications such as fiberboard (MDF), wood wool insulation boards, wood-based composite materials and biomass briquette feedstock.

With growing order volume and expanding production capacity, the customer's existing screening equipment became the bottleneck of the whole line. Frequent mesh blocking

caused by the long fibrous, fluffy

and fluffy nature of the material resulted in repeated downtime, low effective working time, unstable product grading and high maintenance cost. The production line could not

reach its target throughput, and the

delivery schedule was increasingly hard to guarantee.

 Pain Points

The customer clearly summarized the key challenges:

- **Fiber winding and wrapping**: long and fluffy wood fibers easily wind around sieve wires, causing serious mesh blocking;

- **Agglomeration and clumping**: fluffy material tends to stick and form lumps on the screening surface;

- **Low effective capacity**: actual output was far below the design value due to frequent cleaning stops;

- **High maintenance cost**: frequent mesh replacement and cleaning increased both labor and spare parts cost;

- **Unstable grading quality**: oversized and undersized fractions were mixed, failing the downstream quality requirement.

2. Solution Design

Why a Mogensen Probability Screen

Compared with the customer's original conventional vibrating screen, the **Mogensen Probability Screen (Mogensen Sizer)** works on a completely different principle.

 It uses **multiple decks with large inclination

angles**, so the material moves down the decks by gravity and passes through the meshes according to statistical probability rather than being forced to vibrate on one flat surface.

This feature brings critical

benefits for fiber materials:

- The steep multi-deck structure greatly reduces the chance of long fibers winding around the screen wires;

- Material flows through the decks quickly, effectively avoiding agglomeration and clogging;

- High throughput per unit area, meeting the line's production target;

- Lower energy consumption compared with traditional screens of the same capacity.

 3. On-Site Implementation

Installation & Commissioning

After the machine arrived, our technical team supported the customer remotely during installation, adjustment and trial running:

- Integrated the inlet and outlets with the customer's existing conveying and bagging system;

- Adjusted vibration parameters and deck angle on site to match the actual moisture and fiber characteristics of the wood material;

- Completed no-load and loaded trial runs to confirm screening effect and running stability.

Operating Performance

Once put into production, the equipment performed excellently:

- Actual throughput reached the designed production target steadily;

- Fiber screening ran smoothly without obvious winding or mesh blocking;

- Multi-level grading was stable and consistent, with oversized material effectively removed;

- Continuous running was reliable, with energy consumption and maintenance significantly lower than the previous equipment;

- The output fractions met the downstream quality standard for panel production.

4. Customer Feedback

The customer gave high recognition to the upgrade:

- **Production capacity secured**: the whole line reached its target output and delivery schedules were protected;

- **Screening quality stable**: fiber fractions were uniform and met the requirement of the downstream process;

- **Lower operating cost**: reduced downtime, less mesh replacement and lower energy consumption;

- The customer confirmed that our Mogensen probability screen will be the first choice for their future production line expansion.

5. Conclusion

By customizing a **Mogensen Probability Screen** for a wood fiber and wood shavings production line, we successfully solved the core pain points of fiber winding,

mesh blocking and unstable grading,

achieving:

- **High throughput** that matches the production target;

- **Anti-winding and anti-clogging** performance specifically designed for fluffy fibrous material;

- **Low energy consumption** and **simple maintenance** for continuous economic operation;

- **Stable multi-fraction grading** that satisfies downstream quality requirements.

This case fully verifies the reliability and economy of the Mogensen probability screen in wood fiber, wood shavings and other fibrous fluffy material applications,

 and can be widely replicated in the wood-based

 panel, insulation material and biomass industries.
